A pendatang too brilliant to be ignored...
This is definitely not original, but an adaptation of one which went round
some time ago, about an Indian in USA. But then again, it is good for a
laugh...
It was the first day of a school in Kulai, Johor and a new Chinese student
named Chong Shan entered Standard four.
The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some Malaysian History. Who said
'Merdeka, Merdeka"
She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Chong Shan who had his hand up:
'Tunku Abdul Rahman, 31 August 1957' he said.
'Very good! Who said 'China's authoritarian rule is more effective than the
'democracy' practiced in Malaysia?''
Again, no response except from Chong Shan. 'Tun Dr. Mahathir from Kerala,
2010' he said.
The teacher snapped at the class, 'Boys, you should be ashamed. Chong Shan,
who is a pendatang to our country, knows more about our history than you
do.'
She heard a loud whisper: '@#$% the Chinese.' 'Who said that?' she demanded.
Chong Shan put his hand up. 'Perkasa Chief, Ibrahim Ali.'
Now furious, another student yells, 'Yeah, I am Malay first, Malaysian
second!'
Chong Shan jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher,
'Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin, 2010'.
At that point, a student in the back said, 'Correct, correct, correct!'
The teacher glares around and asks 'All right! Now, who said that?'
Again, Chong Shan says, 'Lawyer VK Lingam, in a telephone conversation
brokering the appointment of top judges with the former Chief Justice.'
Now with almost mob hysteria someone said, 'I am not ashamed to admit that I
cannot compete with the Chinese and Indian students.'
Chong Shan frantically yells at the top of his voice, 'Tun Dr. Mahathir from
Kerala, in Medical College.'
The teacher fainted. And as the class gathered around her on the floor,
someone said, 'Oh shit, we're screwed!'
And Chong Shan, rather sheepish being correct all the time, said softly, 'I
think it was Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 2008'.

The moment when a dream is awakened
I wonder you feel the same as me ; all the sudden I realized friends and relatives around me seems to get less and less.
Those years when the New Year drew near, all sorts of gathering appointments almost completely filled the diaries, but this year seems so quiet.
Even in normal time, phone calls become less and less, face to face meet up also become much less.
Perhaps, everybody is busy with their own things, or perhaps, nowadays people prefer to stay in.
However, it is not entirely like this, thinking further, actually old friends and relatives are not around any more. God bless, they are still alive and well, they just left the country, Malaysia .
They have gone to China to set factory; ah Wang quit his engineer job and migrated to Australia to set up his little food store business, ah Fong left the local University went to Hong Kong as a lecturer. 'Frog' went to Taiwan to pursue his second career life. Others went to Americia , England , even Indonesia ...
At first, I thought these are individual cases, but gradually, people around me realized the same, these are not individual cases but a general symptom of our society. they are not small numbers but the pretty big indeed.
Department of Foreign Affairs released the figures earlier, it confirmed the situation is real.
From March 2008 thru September 2009, a total of 300,000 Malaysian migrated to other countries, among them 200,000 left between Jan - Aug 2009. (in 8 months)
Cummulatively, 2 million Malaysians migrated, this figure is close to the number of Indonesian workers in Malaysia today.
The difference are, those migrated are mostly professional and middle class people.
They have many reasons to leave: pursue career development, for the future of their children, in search of better life and environment... In one sentence, they lost hope of Malaysia .
50 years ago people said: Malaysia is very good, better than Hong Kong and even Japan .
30 years ago people said: Malaysia is not bad, comparable to S. Korea and Taiwan . (No mention of Hong Kong and Japan any more).
20 years ago people said: Malaysia can do lah, at least better than China and Thailand (Cannot compare with Taiwan and Korea lah)
10 years ago people said: No matter how bad Malaysia is, cannot be worse than Vietnam and Indonesia ok-lah. ( China is already in a different category).
Today, the economic growth rate of Vietnam and Indonesia already far exceeded Malaysia , Social activity and intellectual development of the country is also better, the gap between us and them is closing up.
Why worry? there are still Philipines , Cambodia and Myanmar behind us.
However, according to an economist who recently surveyed Phillipines, he think in 20 years' time, Malaysia can replace Phillipines to become the World exporter of Malaysian maids.
Over half a century, Malaysians live in the big old imperial housing complex, closed up and survive on properties left behind by the ancestor; continued to consume up social resources, wasteful, and drove away talents; they never talk about competitiveness, totally neglected productivity, and hated meritocracy.
When Asia economic storm hit in 1997, Malaysia closed their doors, thinking we beautifully avoided a disaster, they even think of themselves as genius, being able to handle the situation so well.
However, just look at other countries in our neighbourhood ; they stood up, faced the storm, and walked out of the storm. They overhauled their system, improved the processes and marched forward ; they moved up to a new level. And Malaysia , still walking on the spot . . !
Dear Malaysia , it's time to wake up !
We are very very late now !

Ex-top cop Ramli acquitted of graft
Ramli gives a thumbs-up after his acquittal today. — Picture by Jack Ooi
Judge M Gunalan ruled today that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against Ramli, who was the Commercial Crimes Investigations Department (CCID) chief when he was charged and suspended from service in 2007.
He was charged with failing to declare ownership of 20,000 Telekom Malaysia Berhad shares, 154,000 Permaju Industries Berhad shares and interest in two office properties worth RM1,032,840.
Ramli, 56, was alleged to have committed the offences at the office of the then Anti-Corruption Agency’s deputy public prosecutor in Putrajaya on Sept 17, 2007.
The CCID supremo had also been charged separately in the Kota Kinabalu Sessions court for allegedly using police aircraft to view two pieces of property in which his real estate company had an interest.
That case, too, ended in an acquittal for Ramli when, on July 27 of last year, Sessions Court Judge Supang Lian said: “The prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case and the accused deserves to be acquitted and discharged.’’

I'm here to tell you that my granny, along with the grannies of other six million Chinese Malaysians, sailed across the oceans here not to sell their bodies!
With her bound feet, granny came here to support a family. And when the Japanese troops rolled over Malaya, she led the family to safety.
When the situation became more stable later, she negotiated with the Japs to get a licence to do business, and had been able to expand her business when the Brits returned. She treated her Malay and Indian neighbours as her own compatriots, and would prepare a whole stack of angpaos on the first day of every Chinese New Year to distribute to the Malay and Indian kids queuing up in front of our house. She leased out a small plot of land for a Chinese primary school, but had not in decades asked for the return of the land.
Every year on 31 August, she would try to find a national flag and hang it up high on a very long pole in front of our house. She landed on Malaya, and treated this place her own country. She had not had another home or country since.
When she passed away, many Malaymakcik came to our house and sobbed over her passing.
With her unparalleled wisdom, hard work, morality and determination, she spent her entire life in a very respectful manner. No one can ever insult her and accuse that she had come here to sell her body!
My granny, like the grannies of many other people, was a truly great woman.
From Malaya to Malaysia, they were scattered in every family and every corner of this country.
From the rubber-tapping workers in the estates, to the excavators in the tin mines, they were the most hardworking and exceptional women anywhere in the world. During those darkest years, they displayed the most glorious side of humanity. They sacrificed their youths and lives, so that you and I, along with our homes and nation, can come into being.
Even though they might no longer be around today, they still live deep inside our hearts, and support us morally.
Not only the country's laws will come after you, Nasir, you still owe our grannies a sincere apology.

PS3 Slim is coming soon
It is stated that this PS3 slim will retail at USD299.99. It is like MYR1100.00. But somehow, it make me feel that when it is launch here it will cost MYR2400.00. Even though, after added tax or other changes it will be like MYR1600.00 but in Malaysia, we never know how they charge. That is what the amazing part of Malaysia.
Amazing Malaysia, Truly Asia. hahah :p
Sometime, when I think about in Malaysia a normal salary man in US earn
USD 3000 - buy a gadget for eg. PS3 USD 299.99
For Malaysia
MYR3000 - buy a PS3 MYR1200 (direct conversion)
Still doesn't make any sense. What's wrong with the market value here.
Chocolate (Malaysia)
This is the culture and story of Malaysia. I think I am going to like it.

What Makes A Malaysian A Malaysian?
1. A typical young Malaysian can name all the players from a top English
Premier League club, but ask him to name one football player from Malaysia,
he cannot
2. When StreamyX come, you complain StreamyX too slow. When Maxis Broadband
come, you complain Maxis Broadband always disconnects. When WiMax come, you
complain Wimax too expensive. In the end, you say StreamyX still the best
lah.
3. When highway toll price increase, you complain. When petrol price
increase, you complain. When you go Starbucks buy RM10 coffee, NO
COMPLAINTS.
4. When you cannot find parking in a shopping mall and have to walk very
far, you complain. When you go inside the shopping mall and there's SALE ,
run from one end of 1Utama to the other, that one NO COMPLAINT..
5. You are always late. And the excuse you give when you're late is always
either: (a) traffic jam (b) no transport or (c) cannot find parking.
6. You have a parent who forces you to take science stream in high school,
study engineering in Uni, then when you graduate, they ask you to forget
everything you learnt in Uni and do commerce..
7. You know someone who can specially develop an angmoh accent when speaking
to an American / British / Australian.
8. You complain against the government in kopitiam, you talk loud loud.
Leave anonymous comments on blogs, you also talk loud loud. Attend ceremah
by DAP, you shout loud loud. Then when Opposition organise a protest and ask
you to go, you dun wan. Scared later kena tangkap by ISA.
9. Every year on the 30th April, you are one of the people below queuing up
last minute to submit your tax return at the IRB.
10. When you pay RM10 for something that costs RM1, you blame the Chinese.
11. When a government service is too slow, you blame the Malays.
12. When a building is not good and collapsed, you blame the Indians...
13. When a Chinese student won a scholarship, you say 'Wah! Very clever
hor?' When a Malay student won a scholarship, you say 'Aiya! Of course lah!
He Malay mah!'
14. When an angmoh stranger kisses you on the cheek to say hello, you very
happy. When a Malaysian guy kisses you on the cheek to say hello, you slap
him in face.

Expensive Carpark in Residential Area - GAC
For PJ area, carpark might be varies but price for it is from RM4 - 8. For most of the shopping center, for mid valley currently is charge by hour maximun for RM8 while on OneU, is per-entry only at RM 1- 2.
This is not the end, there is a lot open car park that charges money, but most of us car driver willing to pay as carpark is difficult to find....sad~

However, what I know in GREEN AVENUE CONDOMINIUN (GAC) in bukit jalil charge its visitor RM10 for a carpark duration of 4 hours. Funny, this is the most funny and exhilarating I ever heard and know. Now, condominium management is trying to earn carpark money too. Sadly to say, this is the first time I ever heard this kind of problem, that a residential area need to pay carpark fees. Ever wonder there are a day when your parent, relative, brother or sister come visit you at the condominium, and they need to pay a carpark fees like everywhere else.

opps, you did it again
So this time, whose concert are they going to criticize? oops, wait~ Not only that but being rejected.
Sorry to hear it, Avril, seem like your concert is going to be canceled due to
- Lavigne's show was "considered too sexy for us" and would promote the wrong values just before independence day
- Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from the chest to the knees
- hey must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage
